ABOUT ME:
From skinny, frizzy-haired girl to award-winning director/actor.
My dream was to be an actress. But I didn't have much money, and I didn't think anyone would hire a skinny, frizzy-haired girl with blue eye-shadow. My mother didn't believe in acting or makeup, either. She thought it was a waste of time.
Maybe she was right. Maybe not. It’s been a hard road but I never gave up.
Since 1996, I've made my living as a professional director/actor. I own my own theater company, AspenDream Productions. I am a member of the Dramatist Guild and Equity.

MAKEUP FOR TV, FILM, VIDEO: As a Theatrical/film makeup artist I've learned many techniques from masters whose crucial role is transforming actors into the characters they portray. I conceptualizing character looks: collaborating/brainstorming with directors, costume designers, and actors to develop the overall look of each character. This involves understanding the character's background, personality, and the story's context.

Special effects makeup:For example, I've created specialized makeup effects, such as wounds, scars, burns, and aging. This may involve using prosthetics, and other techniques.
HEAD SHOTS: Janice's signature makeup application is a must-have for any special occasion. She will start by creating a flawless complexion, then she will enhance your eyes and lips with subtle yet impactful colors. You will leave her chair feeling confident and good-looking.
BRIDAL MAKEUP: Janice is a skilled bridal makeup artist who will create a look that is both timeless and elegant. She will work with you to create a makeup plan that complements your wedding dress, venue, and personal style. You will look and feel like your most beautiful self on your wedding day. She has expert contacts to ensure that your day will be "PERFECT and ON TIME".
MAKEUP LESSONS: Janice is a patient and informative makeup instructor who will teach you everything you need to know to apply your makeup like a pro. She will cover everything from skincare to product selection to application techniques. You will leave her class feeling empowered and confident in your ability to do your own makeup. (Those under 18 must be with an adult.

With over 20 years of experience as a trained theatrical artist, she has a deep understanding of how to use makeup to create a wide range of looks. Janice has worked from young clients to older clients and understands what each person needs in order to gain the desired look. In turn, she offers many beauty secrets passed down from beauty pageants and many other beauty experts.This experience is invaluable when it comes to working and helping people achieve their desired look. Janice only use the finest makeup available (i.e. Mac.)
Makeup may be done in beautiful private pristine studio in Goshen. Other areas may be arranged.
EDUCATION:
Janice has a well-rounded education that is a valuable asset to her career as a makeup artist.
She graduated from the University of Connecticut and Yale. Janice studied Theater, Management, and Directing. For her Beauty skills, she attended IAP Career College and for SFX she studied at Central CT State University.
Her knowledge of working years in theater and film helps her understand makeup application and create looks that are both beautiful and flattering and FUN!
